Prescription Fraud Suspects in Court... 36 out of 5,205 Prescriptions Examined

In the investigation into prescription fraud, Dr. Fikri Koray, pharmacist Sercan Avcı, and individuals found to have signed fake prescriptions, namely Mehmet Akyay, Gürcan Taşkaya, and Erçin Kafadayı, were brought back to court today.

During the hearing, the police officer presented the facts, stating that 36 out of 5,205 prescriptions had been examined and found to be conclusive evidence of the crime.

As part of the fake prescription investigation, pharmacist Sercan Avcı, Dr. Fikri Koray, and Mehmet Akyay, Gürcan Taşkaya, and Erçin Kafadayı, who were arrested on September 22, were brought back to court.

The police officer, Mehmet Mannaş, presented evidence related to the case, stating that the names of citizens whose identities were falsified and the names of the pharmacies where Dr. Fikri Koray worked were identified in his car and residence. The police mentioned that an investigation was conducted into the purpose of the funds sent to Koray's account and that an examination of his phone was carried out.

The police also stated that Dr. Fikri Koray had worked with 42 pharmacies and that research had been conducted regarding the prescriptions.

SERKAN AVCI ISSUED 36 FAKE PRESCRIPTIONS

The police revealed that pharmacist Serkan Avcı had issued 36 fake prescriptions. They also mentioned that during questioning, Avcı claimed that he did it as an act of goodwill.

During the search at the pharmacy, the police found 258 cut-out medication coupons, 10 empty medication containers, 74 empty medication boxes, 6 empty syrup bottles, and 4 empty eye drop containers. The police stated that the suspects Erçin Karadayı, Gürcem Taşkaya, and Mehmet Akyay had signed other people's prescriptions.

The court ruled that the suspects would remain in custody for 8 more days as part of the ongoing investigation.
