Following his diplomatic efforts in New York, President Tatar briefed the parliamentary representatives of political parties represented in the TRNC's Parliament. During a press statement after these discussions, President Tatar underscored the crucial role played by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who, during the United Nations General Assembly, emphasized the significance and value of the TRNC to the world.

Tatar explained that he had provided a detailed account of the New York meetings during his talks with political parties. He stressed the need for the TRNC's reality to be recognized before formal negotiations on the Cyprus issue could proceed.

Tatar noted that they had carried out the process in consultation and harmony with Turkey. He highlighted that during his time in New York, they had meetings with representatives of the United Nations and various member states, including the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Turkish officials. He expressed gratitude for President Erdoğan's messages advocating for the promotion of the TRNC during the UN General Assembly.

Tatar criticized the UN for not granting the Turkish Cypriot community a voice in negotiations and for allowing Greek Cypriots to speak on behalf of the entire island, describing it as a significant injustice. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the reality of the TRNC, the acknowledgment of Turkish Cypriot independence, and the formal recognition of the TRNC. President Erdoğan's call for the development of diplomatic, economic, and political relations with the TRNC was also highlighted.

Tatar reiterated that a solution to the Cyprus problem must recognize the indispensable reality of the TRNC and that there could be no resolution without recognizing the sovereignty and rights of the Turkish Cypriot people. He communicated these points to the UN Secretary-General as well.

Tatar emphasized that they had not avoided diplomacy, communication, or dialogue and were open to negotiations on all issues based on equality and without belittling the TRNC. He noted that they had proposed discussions on various topics, including electricity via cable, irregular migration, and mine clearance.

Addressing the accusation that he had evaded discussions, Tatar asserted that he could never approve such statements and clarified that the UN Secretary-General would not initiate a process that was bound to fail. He emphasized their willingness to engage in the proposed cooperation between two states and stressed that they had communicated this to the Secretary-General.

Tatar also mentioned their proposal to open the Haspolat Border Crossing for commercial vehicles, which would relieve the Metehan Border Crossing. He concluded by reiterating their readiness to discuss all matters on the basis of equality.

President Tatar emphasized that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is an indispensable reality in finding an honorable solution, ensuring peace, security, and regional stability. He stated that they would continue to fight to find an honorable solution without submitting, kneeling, or falling under Greek Cypriot authority.

Tatar highlighted their cooperation with Turkey and the fact that they had lost 50 years at negotiation tables due to good intentions. He emphasized that they had been kept under isolation while Greek Cypriots, as members of the European Union, had hindered the development of the TRNC. Tatar concluded by emphasizing the importance of recognizing the TRNC, a reality that holds the key to the region's future.
