In an interview on Kıbrıs Postası TV's program 'Gündem', former President Mehmet Ali Talat discussed the current situation in the country. He emphasized that everything is in a state of confusion, with serious problems in every aspect, from the Cyprus problem to daily life.

Talat stated that people are struggling with livelihood issues and that the country has likely never been in such a dire situation before. He also mentioned the poor governance in the country.

Regarding the Cyprus problem, Talat noted that no one is willing to meet with President Ersin Tatar due to his stance on the issue. He pointed out that the United Nations Security Council has confirmed that a solution in Cyprus cannot be based on two states. He expressed concerns about the lack of international recognition for Turkish Cypriots and stated, "We will probably wait for President Tatar to complete his term for any new developments."

Talat did not expect Turkey to make a move on the Cyprus issue and warned that Turkey would face serious difficulties in any case.

He emphasized the importance of direct foreign investment for the Turkish economy and argued that political stability, democracy, the rule of law, and the resolution of the Cyprus problem were necessary for economic development. He also referred to a corruption investigation related to medical prescriptions and said that proper procedures must be followed to prevent corrupt practices.

Talat criticized the current state of laws and procedures in the country and argued that the legal system needed improvement.
