Tourism Sector in South Cyprus Affected Due to Conflict in Israel

The negative developments in Israel have caused concerns in the tourism industry in South Cyprus, as Israel is considered the second-largest market for South Cyprus in terms of tourism. According to Politis newspaper, over 300,000 tourists have visited South Cyprus from Israel this year.

Costas Kymis, the Tourism Undersecretary, stated that they have never stopped communicating and working with other countries and markets following a working meeting between him, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, and the Association of Cyprus Tourist Enterprises (STEK).

Kymis expressed concerns regarding the size of the Israeli market, noting that they continuously examine other markets as well.

Akis Vavlitis, the President of STEK, mentioned that there have been no changes in new reservation requests from Israel when asked about the matter.

The newspaper reported that various tourism-related issues were discussed during the working meeting.
