Electricity Prices Set to Rise in Southern Cyprus
Southern Cyprus' Minister of Energy, George Papanastasiu, announced that electricity prices are expected to increase. Speaking at the "19th Annual Cyprus Summit" organized by "Economist," Minister Papanastasiu disclosed the impending hike in electricity prices.
According to Haravgi newspaper, Minister Papanastasiu stated that electricity rates would rise due to the projected emission burden worth 500 million euros in 2024.
Papanastasiu's statement also drew attention to the significant natural gas reserves in Southern Cyprus, which, due to a lack of necessary infrastructure, remain untapped.
