Decrease in the Number of Smokers in Southern Cyprus
According to an survey conducted by the "MARC Research" company on behalf of "PHILIP MORRIS CYPRUS" with the participation of 801 individuals, the Fileleftheros newspaper stated that one in three Greeks (30.1%) uses tobacco, and this figure is 1.2% lower than in the previous survey.
The newspaper reported that the survey indicated that 86.6% of every 10 individuals are concerned about the negative impact of smoking on their health. Furthermore, 79.8% of every 10 people expressed that the main motivating reason to quit smoking is the adverse effects on health.
Additionally, 61.1% of participants revealed that they do not smoke, and they are bothered by their partners' smoking habits. Moreover, 80.9% believe that there should be sufficient information regarding alternative solutions to smoking.
