Mozart and Salieri’ Takes the Stage for the Second Time

Kyrenia Municipality Theater Groups kicked off the 2023-2024 season with three different plays. Throughout November, the plays "Risk of Collapse," "Let's Kill, Darling," and "Mozart and Salieri" will be staged at Kyrenia Municipality Chamber Theater. Starting with the play "Risk of Collapse," the November play series will continue with "Mozart and Salieri" on the evening of November 17.

According to information provided by Kyrenia Municipality Theater Groups, all plays throughout November will start at 20:30, and ticket prices are set at 150 TL. It was noted that tickets can also be purchased at the door on play days, and for those interested, online ticket reservations can be made at www.kibrisbiletcim.com. The information also emphasized that reservations will not be made for the plays.

Biographical motifs and the construction of biographical discourse constitute, in our view, the most important components of the content in Pushkin's tragedy "Mozart and Salieri," and the analysis of these sheds light on additional aspects of the tragic conflict. In the tragedy, there is a hero (Mozart) who opposes the impulsive manifestations of life, and there is another hero (Salieri) with a different, genre-focused biographical feature. Understanding this opposition and drawing the appropriate context requires consideration of the tragic conflict's additional dimensions. Salieri combines the normative hero of classical biography with the demonic theomachy of romantic worlds.
