Fire Incidents Cause Nearly 3 Million TL in Damages Across the Country in One Week

In the past week, a total of 12 fires occurred in the country, resulting in approximately 3 million TL in damages. Short circuits were identified as the primary cause of the fires. Most of the incidents took place in the Nicosia region, with vehicle fires and electric-related incidents topping the list.

According to the fire department's report covering November 13 - November 19, they responded to 12 fires and 21 private service incidents. The total damage caused by the fires was approximately 2,731,500 TL.
Possible causes of the fires include fuel leakage from a damaged vehicle's hose, accumulated oil in chimneys, electric wires colliding or breaking due to wind, uncontrolled fires set for cleaning purposes, and short circuits.
Private service incidents involved rescuing an 8-month-old child trapped in a house, a cat stuck in the garden gate, a pigeon trapped in the kitchen section, a dog fallen into a water well, rescuing individuals stuck in an elevator, taking precautions against fires, providing fire safety training, ensuring road safety, and transporting deceased individuals to the hospital for legal investigation.
