Seven Fires and Thirty-One Private Service Incidents Mark the Past Week in the Country
In the span of a week (November 20-26), the country experienced a series of notable events, with seven fires and thirty-one private service incidents reported, according to information provided by the Police General Directorate.
The causes behind the seven fires were identified as follows: the ignition of forgotten meals and oil inside a functional oven and fryer, electrical short circuits, fuel leakage in the engine compartment of a vehicle leading to ignition, improper disposal of unextinguished cigarette butts, sparks igniting due to contact between wind-affected electric wires, and uncontrolled expansion of fires ignited for cleaning purposes.
The cumulative damage from these fires amounted to 225,000 TL, highlighting the importance of fire safety measures and public awareness.
On the other front, the thirty-one private service incidents encompassed a range of scenarios, including the rescue of an individual trapped under soil and formwork boards in a construction site foundation, the retrieval of a boat stranded due to adverse weather conditions, the rescue of a dog stuck in an irrigation pipe in a garden, and the extraction of cats caught in a climate control unit.
Other incidents involved the removal of fallen trees obstructing roads due to strong winds, the dismantling of a barn roof displaced by wind for environmental safety, fire prevention measures, the provision of fire safety training, and facilitating the transfer of deceased individuals for forensic investigations.
