Power Outage Resolved at Ercan, Flights Resume After Brief Interruption
Flights were temporarily halted at Ercan Airport due to an electrical malfunction. According to information obtained from Ercan authorities by Kıbrıs Postası, flights resumed after the issue was resolved.
Ercan Airport was closed to air traffic for approximately one hour this morning. The generator related to meteorological systems that display weather conditions failed to operate during the power outage. As a result, 6 planes, 4 departing and 2 arriving, were affected by the suspended air traffic.
Officials at Ercan informed Kıbrıs Postası that the malfunction has been rectified, and flights have resumed.
It is worth noting that Ercan experienced an electrical issue in the past weeks, causing the air traffic control mechanism to go offline and resulting in the suspension of flights. An aircraft, including Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı, could not take off for a period due to the encountered problem.
