Dismissed Benter Makes First Statement: I Never Prioritized Personal Interests
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Benter, the former Director General of the Vakıflar Administration in Cyprus, made a written statement emphasizing that he never turned a blind eye to lies and fraud during his tenure and stated, "I never prioritized personal interests."
Benter, who was recently removed from the position, highlighted his accomplishments, stating, "When I took office in May 2013, there was no money in the Foundations' bank account. Today, there is over 300 million TL in this account. While 70,000 TL was spent annually for charitable works, we increased this amount to 70 million TL in 2023."
Underlining his dedication to working day and night for the needs of the people, Benter stated that he never tolerated lies and fraud.
"As a medical professor, my 'loss' due to salary differences exceeded 3 million dollars in 10.5 years because I did not pursue my own profession. However, due to my commitment to foundation sensitivities and my love for my country, I never prioritized personal interests," said Benter.
Despite the difficulties and obstacles he faced during this period, Benter expressed that he continued to provide fair and honest service to the public. He concluded his statement by pledging to continue serving with the same dedication and feelings in the future.

During this process, I worked day and night for the needs of our people and did my best not to turn a blind eye to lies and fraud.
Despite pressures, I maintained my honesty.
