One Arrested in Car Chase with Police in South Cyprus
In South Cyprus, a car chase ensued between the police and a suspect found in possession of narcotics. The pursuit resulted in a collision with another vehicle during which the individual abandoned their car and was quickly apprehended.
Reportedly, an incident involving a heated chase occurred yesterday in the village of Çeri, located in South Nicosia, involving an EU citizen and the police.
Alithia newspaper reported that the police received a tip about a driver exhibiting suspicious behavior in the area. Acting on the tip, the police attempted to stop the individual's vehicle, but the person started to flee.
The newspaper mentioned that the police fired shots in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the individual continued to evade. During the pursuit, the person collided with another vehicle, causing an accident, and then attempted to hide by abandoning their car.
The report stated that the individual was apprehended after a short while, and upon their arrest, a small quantity of narcotics, a knife, and burglary tools were found in their possession.
