Turkey's 2022 Income Tax Champion: Selçuk Bayraktar

At the forefront of the list of taxpayers who declared the highest income tax was Selçuk Bayraktar, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Baykar. In 2022, Selçuk Bayraktar was the record holder with a tax liability of 564,124,318 Turkish Liras.

Baykar, the leading exporter in the defense and aviation sector, derived 86% of its revenue in 2022 from export income. Baykar, led by Selçuk Bayraktar, who also leads in technology, accounted for over 25% of the total exports in the defense and aviation industry in 2022.

The taxpayers in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th positions on the list preferred not to disclose their names.

The 3rd highest income tax liability, amounting to 200,757,695 Turkish Liras, belonged to Mustafa Rahmi Koç.

In the 8th position on the list was Mehmet Sinan Tara, followed by İpek Kıraç in 9th place, and Mehmet Ömer Koç in 10th place.

In the list of taxpayers declaring corporate tax, the names of the corporations in the 1st and 3rd positions preferred not to be disclosed.

In the 2nd position, Turkey Garanti Bankası ranked with a tax liability of 21,419,640,283 Turkish Liras.
