A commemoration event is being held at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Cultural and Congress Center in Gazimağusa to remember those who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquake in Turkey.

Addressing the audience at the commemoration event, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia, Metin Feyzioğlu, expressed, "A calamity of the ages occurred. Among the 53,537 lives lost, there are our beloved 'Champion Angels'. For families, February 6 was a moment when time stood still, the world stopped turning, and hours and days ceased to progress. Each of those who perished in the earthquake had hopes and dreams. Holding killers accountable through Turkish justice is a debt of honor for all of us. In moments of pain, we stand united, and in our quest for justice, we are undoubtedly together. Under the leadership of President Erdoğan, it is our duty to build Turkey even stronger for future generations. We will continue to honor the names of our angels forever. Your grief is our grief. May their souls rest in peace."
