Fraudulent Scheme Uncovered in Kyrenia as Man Poses as Police Officer

A man identified as E.K. was arrested in Kyrenia for perpetrating a fraudulent act, falsely portraying himself as a police officer to deceive an individual into giving him 7,680 TL under the pretext of needing money for his sick spouse.

According to information provided by the Police Press Office, on February 5th, around 18:00, E.K. (E-34) in Kyrenia, despite lacking any affiliation with law enforcement, misrepresented himself as a police officer to an unsuspecting individual. He fabricated a story about his wife being ill and in need of urgent financial assistance. Subsequently, he deceitfully obtained 7,680 TL in cash from the victim.

E.K., who has a history of similar offenses, remains in police custody.

The police continue their investigation into the matter.
