Cemal Redif, the General Manager of Cypfruvex Operations Ltd., made a press statement regarding the issues in the citrus industry.

General Manager Cemal Redif expressed that they had expressed their opinions along with the board of directors at the beginning of the season.

Redif said, "We set tonnage targets according to the dates we foresaw. We announced that we would process 25 thousand tons of mandarins in our packaging and squeezing facilities," explaining that there were always difficulties regarding the matter, which did not arise later.

Redif noted that the prices and excess of citrus products in Turkey were evident from the beginning, stating that efforts were made regarding the export of products from the TRNC to other countries.

"The crucial point for us was to harvest the maximum yield of our producers," said Redif, also mentioning problems with the harvesting teams.

"THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE EXCESS HARVEST"

Redif also stated that the real problem was the excess harvest caused by excessive planting.

Redif said, "The produce of 300 producers will be harvested."

Redif also mentioned that up to 3,500 tons of products were packaged and stored in warehouses, stating, "When the issue of warehouses came up, our Minister of Agriculture Hüseyin Çavuş spent time with us. The sensitivity of the minister and our prime minister is evident, as well as the sensitivity of their teams," he said.

Redif noted that they would transport these products to markets from healthy cold storage facilities, saying, "I thank the board of directors for their efforts. I also thank the Transporters Association in the same way."

Redif, who has been in this business for 11 years, also stated that the grievances of the producers would be addressed.

"OUR HARVEST EXCEEDS WHAT WE ANNOUNCED"

"We, as the board of directors, say that there is no color to bread; we try to contribute without discrimination, we do not need misinformation," said Redif, stating that the harvest they conducted exceeded what they announced by 3-4 thousand tons.
