Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, EMU Rector Hasan Kılıç, and EMU officials reached a consensus today at the EMU summit held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Ünal Üstel at the Prime Ministry.

However, Ercan Hoşkara, President of the Eastern Mediterranean University Academic Personnel Union (DAÜ-SEN), said in a statement to Kıbrıs Postası regarding the issue, "Talking about consensus where the union is not involved is absurd."

Hoşkara pointed out that the EMU Board of Trustees had presented its work to the government and that the consensus was between the 'government' and the 'rectorate' in this context, emphasizing that the unions were not involved in this consensus.

Stating that "Unions are not involved in this consensus," Hoşkara also said that they had no information about the issue.

Hoşkara noted that they did not believe that discussions could reach a healthy point while EMU was in this situation.
