Cyprus Foreign Ministry: No Need to Worry About Terror Attacks in Southern Cyprus
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus has announced that there is no need to worry about the possibility of a terrorist attack in Southern Cyprus. This announcement comes in response to concerns raised due to the use of British bases in Yemen attacks.
According to Politis newspaper, the Director General of the Ministry, Kiriakos Kuros, stated in response to a question from Member of Parliament Hristos Orfanidis that the British government has informed the Republic of Cyprus about operations conducted from British bases, emphasizing that Cyprus has not participated in any military operations.
Kuros emphasized that the safety of the people on the island and the relationship with neighboring countries are priorities for the government. He stated that cooperation with the United Kingdom is ongoing to mitigate all dangers, and necessary diplomatic actions have been taken.
