Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca to Serve as Chairman of YÖDAK

In light of the legal process initiated against YÖDAK Chairman Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı, who will not be able to perform his duties, YÖDAK Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca announced that he would assume the chairmanship of YÖDAK as required by law.

he Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation, and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) Chairman Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı will not be able to perform his duties due to the legal process initiated against him. Consequently, YÖDAK Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca will serve as chairman during this period.

In an official statement released on the institution's website, YÖDAK Vice Chairman Amca noted that Prof. Dr. Avcı would be unable to fulfill his duties due to the ongoing legal process. He further emphasized that according to the law, he would assume the chairmanship of YÖDAK during this time, ensuring that the institution would fulfill all its duties, authorities, and responsibilities with great diligence.

The statement reads as follows:

"As is known, a legal process has been initiated regarding YÖDAK Chairman Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı. Due to this ongoing legal process, Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı will not be able to perform his duties as the chairman of YÖDAK. In the absence of the chairman, I will serve as the chairman of YÖDAK during this period, as stipulated by Article 10 of the Higher Education Law No. 65/2005 in its amended form. YÖDAK will fulfill all its duties, authorities, and responsibilities bestowed upon it by the legislation continuously and with great diligence. I invite the public to act with prudence to ensure that this process does not harm the TRNC Higher Education System."
