Inspector Cemali Çiftçi provided testimony regarding the matter in court.

According to the police investigation, the suspect, who is the owner of Akdora Pharmacy in Nicosia, along with previously arrested and bailed doctor Niyazi Perk, prepared prescriptions without the knowledge of customers, sent them to social security institutions, and obtained money through fraud.

The police stated that between October 2022 and August 2023, the suspect sent 1,126 prescriptions to social security institutions. Of these prescriptions, 1,056 were written by Perk, and upon examination of 822 of them, 26 were found to be fake.

The police mentioned that they had taken statements from 114 individuals regarding the fake prescriptions. They further stated that the investigation is ongoing on a large scale and that the suspect would not interfere with the remaining investigation. Therefore, they requested that the suspect be released on appropriate bail conditions.

After evaluating the testimony presented, Judge Zehra Yalkut Bilgeç ordered the suspect to deposit 50,000 TL in cash as bail, provide two guarantors each signing 500,000 TL in bail bonds, and imposed a travel ban, allowing the suspect to remain free while awaiting trial.
