Police officer Begüm Bektaş presented the facts about the suspect in court. The police stated that on March 24, 2024, around 9:00 PM, at their residence in Hamitköy, due to his son tripping over a portable toilet in the kitchen area, he got angry and, following a verbal argument between them, grabbed his wife by the arms, pushed her from the shoulders, and punched her right hand, causing serious injuries.

The police stated that upon complaint, an investigation was launched, and the assaulted woman underwent a medical examination, which revealed bruises on her shoulder and arm area, and sensitivity in her right thumb.

The police mentioned that the suspect was arrested on March 25, and when asked for a voluntary statement, he stated, "I've decided not to say anything," and admitted to his crime in a written indictment.

The police informed that files were prepared against the suspect for committing assault against his wife in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, but only one complaint led to further action, resulting in a lawsuit.

The police noted that due to the inability to serve the lawsuit to the suspect, the case was withdrawn. The police pointed out that the suspect continued to commit similar offenses against his wife, requesting detention pending trial.

Assessing the evidence before her, Judge Zehra Yalkut Bilgeç, considering the suspect's repeat offenses and the inability to serve the lawsuit previously, ordered his detention for a period not exceeding 20 days for him to be present at his trial.
