The condemnation came from the Anti-Racism Network (NAR), operating under the umbrella of the Refugee Rights Association (MHD), on March 24, 2024.

"The prevention of Achiri based on the designation of 'banned migrant' is unacceptable," stated a written statement by MHD, highlighting Emmanuel Achiri's eight years of residence in Northern Cyprus and six years of work as an assistant at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), where he completed his doctoral studies. The statement emphasized that Achiri's obstruction on the grounds of being a 'banned migrant' by police at transit points, citing political reasons, is unacceptable.

Achiri's unfair treatment is cited as evidence of the lack of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, according to the statement, which also mentioned Achiri's current presence on the island to examine migration methods in Northern Cyprus with European Parliament members and a member of the German Parliament. The statement underscored that the obstruction deprived Achiri of the right to make an objective observation.
