NEU Artificial Intelligence Department Head Declared Illegal Immigrant

While the country's higher education system is shaken by ongoing events, the revelation about Fadi Al-Turjman, amidst the continued investigation into fake diplomas at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTU) and the turmoil caused by bribery allegations in higher education, has brought a different issue to the forefront of public attention.

It has emerged that Fadi Al-Turjman, who was declared an illegal immigrant by a decision of the Council of Ministers, is the head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at Near East University (NEU).

Fadi Al-Turjman is reportedly wanted by Interpol in Canada with a red notice for crimes including "assault," "sexual assault," "attempted murder," and "abduction," prompting discussions about the need to investigate the backgrounds of academic staff.

The Council of Ministers had decided to declare Fadi Al-Turjman an illegal immigrant due to the possibility of his actions posing a threat to public order, administrative order, and general moral standards, as well as potentially inciting hostility towards the state and acting against the authority and power of the state.
