Ruşen Karakaya: Gazi University Expert Report a Complete Disappointment!

Karakaya and Esendağlı discussed the current situation in an interview with BRT.

Karakaya stated, "The Gazi University expert report has been a complete disappointment. A wrong report has emerged. How can permission be granted for this building? Everyone is suddenly an expert. The rush decision to release them before the trial on April 26 is meaningless. We are very angry and saddened."

Karakaya continued, "We are evaluating with our legal advisors. We will prove this crime. Sooner or later, justice will prevail. Efe Bozkurt and Halil Bağcı can take all the releases they want. Their crimes will be revealed in court."

Emphasizing their demand for justice, Karakaya added, "We will appeal the report. Tomorrow, we will also hold a detailed press conference. We want everyone to continue to stand with us. We do not accept the release of murderers. This case will set a precedent."

Hasan Esendağlı, President of the Cyprus Turkish Bar Association, commented, "This is not an acquittal decision. They have not been acquitted. However, we are concerned about the decision. Our legal experts concluded that the Gazi University Expert Report was prepared hastily and did not address important issues. We will appeal."

Esendağlı stated that objections to the release decision are being considered and added, "The road we are on has shown us once again that it is a rocky one. We are fighting a different battle in a different geography. The report has deficiencies. The court will make its assessment. A new expert report may be requested. The court will evaluate."
