Kapısız highlighted that the incident was hidden from the public eye despite the severity of the worker's injuries. Emrullah Turanlı, the major shareholder of T&T, the operator of Ercan Airport, who has previously faced criticism for having a 56 million TL unpaid electricity bill, is now under scrutiny for allegedly concealing this recent industrial accident.

In an interview with Kıbrıs Postası, Cem Kapısız revealed that he had received information suggesting that the accident, in which a worker was severely injured, had occurred at Ercan Airport in the recent past and had been concealed from the public. Kapısız also noted that the new terminal building is still operating on construction site electricity.

Kapısız pointed out that the electrical panels in the terminal building lack approval from the electricity authority, emphasizing that they are connected to construction site electricity. He highlighted the practice of connecting unverified installations to construction site electricity.

According to Kapısız, an employee at the airport was injured by the explosion of one of the electrical panels, and this incident was allegedly hidden from both the public and union representatives. Kapısız raised questions to the Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Erhan Arıklı, regarding the incident, holding him accountable if the claims were confirmed.

Lastly, Kapısız emphasized that it is evident that Ercan Airport has not undergone the necessary electrical inspections, which poses a risk not only to workers but also to passengers. He warned of potential hazards such as electric leakage and fire outbreaks resulting from inadequate electrical safety measures.
