In an interview with Politis newspaper, Catalano expressed her belief that the key to ending the "division" in Cyprus lies among Cypriots themselves and emphasized that a solution based on mutual understanding is crucial for success.

According to the report, Catalano also sent a message to Turkey, stating that neither a two-state solution nor the status quo would be a solution.

Catalano expressed France's support for a federal solution that would reunify Cyprus and emphasized the need for negotiations to restart under the auspices of the United Nations (UN), without preconditions, based on UN Security Council resolutions, and with substantial support from the European Union (EU).

Highlighting the importance of rebuilding trust between the two communities on the island, Catalano suggested that this could be achieved by increasing trade across the Green Line.

The report also mentioned Catalano expressing that "Cypriots" could rely on France's assistance and support, emphasizing that France is a partner of South Cyprus.

Catalano also referred to France's interest in the Eastern Mediterranean region, stating that France would do its utmost to resolve the crisis in Gaza and achieve a ceasefire.

Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, the report quoted Catalano as saying that France would support Ukraine as much as it needs.
