On the Turkish side, almost all news related to Ersin Tatar's latest New York visit immediately uses the phrase "Maria Holguin, entering the last 3 months of her term."

However, the UN has not made a single official statement regarding Holguin's term.

The first reports on this issue were fabricated in the Greek Cypriot press.

Headlines such as "The Turkish side says the representative's term cannot exceed 6 months" emerged.

With statements like "She was appointed, she was not appointed, she was a special envoy, no she was personal envoy," there was no description of Maria Holguin's term other than her name.

Then, at the end of January, the UN extended the mandate of the Peacekeeping Force on the island for 1 year instead of 6 months for only the second time in its history. Consequently, we all assumed that Holguin had also been appointed for a year. When you search for a needle in a haystack, you evaluate every statement with an epistemological perspective.

Because what we needed first was a reason, even before hope.

However, we soon realized that there was no hope at all.

So why did the UN appoint this representative if there is no hope for a solution? That is the real question.

Do you want to declare the problem unsolvable? Fine, go ahead, let's all be free of it! Or if you have any other intentions, let us know soon.

Listen, Maria Holguin visited the island twice. She met with Ersin Tatar a total of 4 times. Two of these were one-on-one meetings...

Yet, after each meeting, Mr. Tatar continued to deliver messages of deadlock, starting from the year 1571, and in almost every statement, he declared the death of federation.

After each meeting, Maria Holguin contented herself with saying, "We had a very useful meeting."

But that was not enough.

Just because Hristodulidis met with Guterres, Mr. Tatar raised his hand and insisted, "I want to meet too, for the sake of reciprocity."

At that time, while the Secretary-General was in Brussels, he said, "Come, let's meet." After days of speculation, Mr. Tatar said, "The Secretary-General invited me, but I couldn't go." Apparently, it turned out that flying from Cyprus to Brussels was very difficult, so he couldn't go!

As a result, the poor Secretary-General said, "Come to New York." And voilà, as soon as Mr. Tatar received the invitation, he immediately flew to America!

First, the taxpayers' money was used to travel to Washington. There, high-level meetings were held with people with titles like "Assistant Deputy Assistant Chief of the Washington Fire Department's Water Division." Probably thousands of dollars were spent to take photos with think-tank organizations, pretending to do lobbying.

Then they moved to New York, and for the first time in 140 years, New York, which had never experienced a single tremor, was shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 5! Not even King Kong had caused such a tremor!

Anyway, our Mr. Tatar went to New York with great excitement. There, he met with Guterres for almost an hour. Until that hour, if not all of us, at least I had some expectations. We even wrote articles like "Did they invite him for nothing?" Thankfully!

To cut it short, when the meeting ended and Mr. Tatar came out smiling, I was sitting at home in front of the computer. I started watching.

In his broken accent but with a very fluent English, Mr. Tatar, in summary, can be said to have made fun of the UN.

Moreover, he did it right in the heart of the UN building!

He came out and looked the UN straight in the eye, saying, "The federation is dead, if there is no two-state solution, this won't work!"

Whose fault is this?

Of course, the UN's!

He does not care about his representative, his Secretary-General, his criteria, or anything else.

And you, just like a fool, call Mr. Tatar and let him make such a show!

Withdraw your representative, we don't want her! Is this how a serious approach is handled? Because of your empty initiatives, the hopes in the northern part of the island are shattered, yet you still babble "fruitful meeting" after every meeting.

Stop it, stop it!

Even if Mr. Tatar himself is playing with you so brazenly, making fun of you, if you have no sanction to stop this audacity, please stop playing with our hopes. We are already living on a thread, don't drive us crazy!

"A fruitful meeting" huh...!

I swear, you've even made us hate the 'fruit'!
