Izzet İzcan: How Many More Failures?

The leader of the United Cyprus Party (BKP), İzzet İzcan, criticized the decision of the UBP-DP-YDP government to set prices for meat and questioned, "How many more failures?" İzcan argued that the government's decision to set price controls on meat had ended in failure, similar to previous attempts with bread, fruits, and vegetables.

Izzet İzcan: How Many More Failures?
A- A A+

İzcan stated in his announcement that the recent decision follows a pattern of unsuccessful interventions, showcasing a government that appears confused and lacking direction. He pointed out that tensions between butchers and consumers have risen, with some butchers resorting to illegal practices, as citizens turned to purchasing meat from South Cyprus over the holidays.

According to İzcan, the main issue in the North is the flawed economic policies pursued by the government, leading to the destruction of local production and an increase in costs passed on to consumers. He emphasized that the salvation of the Turkish Cypriot community lies in embracing a production-based economic model, engaging with the world, and achieving peace and democracy.
