Expressing deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Kremlin urged all countries in the region to exercise restraint.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that escalating tensions further would be detrimental to all parties involved, stating, "Moscow believes that all disputes should be resolved through diplomatic means."

Iran retaliated two days ago for Israel's suspected attack on its embassy compound in Syria on April 1, which resulted in the deaths of senior Revolutionary Guards commanders.

Iran, which launched an airstrike on Israel, warned that any further action by the Tel Aviv government would be met with a harsher response.
