Four Accidents in One Day: 4 Injured, 3 Arrested

TWO INJURED DRIVERS DISCHARGED, PASSENGER UNDER OBSERVATION

In a traffic accident that occurred on the Kurudere village road at around 18:50 yesterday, Aslı Baysal (F-24), driving a PG 896 plated sedan, failed to yield to vehicles traveling on the Lefkoşa-Gazimağusa highway while attempting to enter the Gazimağusa-Lefkoşa highway to proceed towards Turunçlu direction. As a result, she collided with Mustafa Kara (M-74) driving a HY 264 plated sedan, traveling westbound on the Gazimağusa-Lefkoşa highway, blocking his path.

Both drivers involved in the accident, along with Sevgi Kara (F-66) who was a passenger in the HY 264 plated vehicle, were injured. Aslı Baysal was found to have a broken nose bone, while Sevgi Kaya had a spinal bone fracture. After receiving treatment, Aslı Baysal and Mustafa Kara were discharged, while Sevgi Kaya remains under observation in the surgical ward.

DRIVING WITHOUT A VALID LICENSE, DRIVER ARRESTED

On the Geçitkale-Dörtyol highway, Muhammed Kaylar (M-20) was driving a KN 852 plated sedan southbound when he failed to yield to vehicles on the main road while attempting to enter the Gazimağusa-Lefkoşa highway without priority. Consequently, he collided with Yaşar Marankoz (M-67) driving a TYC 125 plated bus traveling westbound on the main road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this accident.

During the investigation, it was found that the driver of the TYC 125 plated bus, Yaşar Marankoz, was driving with a license outside his category. Consequently, he was arrested.

DRUNK DRIVER COLLIDES WITH ELECTRIC POLE

In Girne, at around 22:30 yesterday on Çiftlikler Sokak, Reyhan Aydın (F-42) was driving a JE 218 plated sedan eastbound under the influence of alcohol (229 milligrams). Due to negligence, she lost control of her vehicle, veering off the road and colliding with an electric pole located within the roadside bank. Reyhan Aydın, the driver of the JE 218 plated vehicle, was injured in the accident. After receiving treatment at Girne Dr. Akçiçek Hospital, she was discharged and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

CARELESS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: ANOTHER ARREST

In another accident that occurred on Beşparmaklar Street in Girne around 17:30 yesterday, Natalia Pahomova (F-48) was driving a KZB 003 plated sedan westbound under the influence of alcohol (233 milligrams). Due to negligence, she collided with the rear of Nazif Ünal's (M-35) NM 536 plated sedan, which was traveling in the same direction and had to slow down due to heavy traffic. No injuries were reported in this accident. Following the investigation, Natalia Pahomova, the driver of the KZB 003 plated vehicle, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
