Historical Artifact Discovered in Gaziveren, Not Reported to Authorities
During construction work by MMT İnşaat in Gaziveren village, historical artifacts were discovered. The landowner did not report the findings to the authorities. Alerted by concerned citizens, the Güzelyurt Department of Antiquities was notified.
Citizens who noticed the unreported artifacts informed Gadara Media and reported the incident to the Güzelyurt Department of Antiquities. Upon receiving the report, the Director of the Antiquities Department, Emine Hilkat, accompanied by teams from the Güzelyurt Police Department and the Forensic Branch, conducted an inspection of the site. The inspection confirmed that the artifacts were of historical significance, leading to the initiation of a formal investigation.
Consequently, the Department of Antiquities has halted all construction activities at the site to preserve the discovered artifacts.
