Ercan Airport Prepares for Holiday Rush: 878 Flights in 10 Days
Ercan Airport is set to handle 878 flights over a ten-day period from June 14 to June 23, encompassing 439 arrivals and 439 departures. The airport will serve thousands of passengers on scheduled, charter, and additional flights, excluding private jets, during and after the Kurban Bayramı holiday.
In a statement from T&T Airport Management, it was noted that Ercan Airport will host 439 incoming and 439 outgoing flights during the 10-day span from June 14 to June 23, covering the KKTC holiday period.
With Turkey extending its Kurban Bayramı holiday to nine days, a significant influx of passengers from Turkey to KKTC is expected. T&T Airport Management has taken all necessary measures to ensure safe, comfortable, and smooth flights for travelers.
98 Flights on the First Day of the Holiday
The statement highlighted that June 16, the first day of the holiday and a Sunday, will be the busiest day, with 49 arrivals and 49 departures, totaling 98 flights.
The flight schedule includes:
- June 14: 44 arrivals and 44 departures
- June 15: 44 arrivals and 44 departures
- June 16: 49 arrivals and 49 departures
- June 17: 43 arrivals and 44 departures
- June 18: 39 arrivals and 38 departures
- June 19: 42 arrivals and 42 departures
- June 20: 45 arrivals and 45 departures
- June 21: 39 arrivals and 39 departures
- June 22: 47 arrivals and 47 departures
- June 23: 47 arrivals and 47 departures
NECESSARY MEASURES TAKEN
M. Serhat Özçelik, General Manager of T&T Airport Management, stated that additional planning has been done to manage the increased passenger volume during peak days and times of Kurban Bayramı.
Özçelik assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure maximum comfort for passengers using Ercan Airport, emphasizing that all measures have been taken to avoid any issues during flights.
He added that efforts are ongoing to enhance passenger satisfaction: “During the 10-day period from June 14 to June 23, Ercan Airport will handle 878 flights. The busiest day will be the first day of the holiday, with 98 flights comprising 49 arrivals and 49 departures.”
Given the expected high traffic during Kurban Bayramı, Özçelik mentioned coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority, Turkish Airlines (THY), Pegasus Airlines, AJet Airlines, SunExpress Airlines, Fly Kıbrıs Airlines, Freebird Airlines, Istanbul Handling, police, immigration, health, Customs Office, and Değirmenlik Municipality to ensure all necessary precautions are in place.
