The first reactions from the leaders of the Greek Cypriot political parties regarding the election results were made last night.

DISY'S SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME

Annita Dimitriu, the leader of DISY, which successfully secured two MEP seats, expressed her satisfaction with the results and emphasized that the party received the voters' message. She declared that the party emerged victorious and stressed the need for renewal within the party, stating she would not tolerate any setbacks.

AKEL'S DISAPPOINTMENT

AKEL General Secretary Stefanos Stefanu, on the other hand, expressed his disappointment with the results. He highlighted the significant negative impact of losing the second MEP seat and stressed the importance of closely examining the message from the community. Stefanu also noted that the election of Fidias, who is not a traditional politician, reflects a new reality that needs to be studied.

DIKO leader Nikolas Papadopulos commented on the outcomes, acknowledging that there are winners and losers in elections and political struggles. He remarked that the results were unfavorable for them and highlighted the increasing instances of the devaluation of politics, indicating that this issue requires attention.
