In a statement, the Chamber, along with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Veterinary Department, confirmed that the imported meats were analyzed at the National Food and Reference Laboratory, an accredited institution under the Veterinary Department. The results showed compliance with the regulations.

"NO ISSUES WITH CONSUMING THE MEATS"

The results indicated that the meats were delivered to the country following food safety criteria without breaking the cold chain, the Chamber stated. “In this context, there is no health-related issue with consuming the imported meats that have entered our country,” the statement added.

The Chamber's announcement emphasized the following points:

  • The importance of food safety processes post-import.
  • The necessity of purchasing meats in their original packaging from the country of origin, ensuring the cold chain remains intact.
  • Avoiding purchasing meats that are not in their original packaging.
  • Carefully reading label information.
  • The need for an effective inspection mechanism to ensure safe delivery to consumers.

"We, as the Food Engineers Chamber, will continue to inform consumers and monitor the process to protect public health and ensure food safety. Our hope is to ensure the sustainability of meat supply through national resources and to support local production. We thank the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Veterinary Department for sharing necessary information transparently and impartially throughout the process."
