In a statement addressing widespread power outages across districts due to a technical failure, KIB-TEK explained that the issue arose from a high-voltage line disconnection at the Teknecik Power Plant.

The authority stated, “The high-voltage line failure caused our plants to shut down, leading to a nationwide power outage. With the activation of the backup transmission line, our plants are gradually resuming operation, and power supply to regions has started to be restored incrementally.”

KIB-TEK further noted that all areas would have power restored shortly and that efforts to resolve the underlying issue are ongoing.

Regarding social media claims that the outages were due to a lack of fuel, KIB-TEK clarified: “These allegations are unfounded. KIB-TEK currently maintains a two-month fuel supply for energy production.”
