CTP described the threats as “dangerous attempts to silence the press and stifle the voice of the people,” emphasizing the party’s opposition to recent attacks on press freedom and the public’s right to be informed.

The party highlighted that weaknesses in governmental controls, including border entry procedures and population policies, have contributed to rising crime rates. Inadequate communication regarding firearm permits and public security has, according to CTP, reinforced perceptions of “security vulnerabilities.”

CTP stressed that protecting journalists’ safety is a fundamental responsibility of public authorities. The party urged the implementation of effective and deterrent measures against threats, affirming its commitment to defending free press, upholding ethical journalism, and safeguarding democracy and the public’s right to accurate information.
