For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that he would order new attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities if Tehran attempts to reactivate them after the bombing in June.

Pezeshkian made his statements during a visit to the country’s Atomic Energy Organization, where he met with senior executives of Iran’s nuclear industry.

“The destruction of buildings and factories will not create a problem for us; we will rebuild them and with greater force,” the Iranian president told state media.

In June, the U.S. joined forces with Israel to launch attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities, which Washington claimed were part of a program aimed at developing nuclear weapons.

Tehran maintains that its nuclear program is for exclusively civilian purposes. However, prior to the war, Iran was enriching uranium to levels just below that required for weapons production. “All of this is aimed at solving the people’s problems, their illnesses, the health of the people,” Pezeshkian stated, referring to Iran’s nuclear activities.
