Cabinet Grants Ministry of Finance TL 6 Billion Borrowing Authority
The Council of Ministers has granted the Ministry of Finance borrowing authority amounting to 6 billion Turkish lira in order to enable the state to meet its financial obligations.
The decision, taken within the limits set out in the 2026 Fiscal Year Budget Law, allows the Ministry of Finance to undertake net borrowing of up to TL 6,000,000,000. It was adopted on 7 January 2026 under decision number Ü(K-I)3-2026.
While the borrowing authority has been transferred to the Ministry of Finance with the approval of the Council of Ministers, the decision does not specify how or in which areas the funds will be used.
