Unauthorised Plant Protection Products Found in Two Local Products
Inspections carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources between 2 and 8 January revealed the presence of unauthorised plant protection products in two out of 25 samples taken from locally produced goods, while no irregularities were detected in imported products.
According to a statement from the ministry, laboratory analyses conducted at the State Laboratory during the specified period found that all 31 samples taken from imported products were clean.
Of the 25 samples taken from local products, 23 were found to be compliant, while two contained plant protection products not recommended for use.
As a result, cucumbers belonging to Hasan Deniz were destroyed after unauthorised plant protection products were detected.
Similarly, mint belonging to Caner Safel will also be destroyed after tests revealed the use of unauthorised plant protection products.
