Gürcafer Rejects Claims Of Citizenship For $150,000 Property Purchases

In a written statement, Gürcafer said there had been neither a demand nor an official statement by the association regarding the granting of citizenship in exchange for property purchases. He stressed that the claims were entirely unfounded.

Gürcafer noted that informal exchanges of views held during casual conversations had been deliberately misrepresented and published as if they were part of a formal interview. He added that the timing of the reports, coinciding with the visit of Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, pointed to a purposeful provocation.

“There has never been any request from us, nor any statement made, about granting citizenship to those who purchase property for $150,000,” Gürcafer said, underlining that the reports did not reflect his views or those of the association.
