Ada Cyprus Campaign Expands into Europe
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoglu met with Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy in Ankara, where it was decided that the Ada Cyprus Promotion Campaign will be launched in the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland.
During the meeting, the sides discussed ongoing efforts to promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus internationally, goals for sustainable tourism planning, and areas of cultural cooperation.
One of the main agenda items was the Ada Cyprus Promotion Campaign, which has achieved significant success in Turkey.
It was agreed that the campaign would continue across Turkey with increased intensity and that promotion would be expanded not only on national television channels but also more widely through digital and social media platforms.
In addition, it was announced that preparations would begin to rapidly roll out the Ada Cyprus campaign in the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland following its success in Turkey. Officials stressed that the positive feedback received in Turkey demonstrates strong potential for the European market as well.
The meeting also included an exchange of information on the Tourism Master Plan prepared for the TRNC. Emphasis was placed on closely monitoring the plan, revising it in line with current developments, and implementing it within a sustainable framework.
In the field of cultural cooperation, the restoration of a Cultural House in Beypazari and the promotion of Turkish Cypriot culture at this centre were also discussed. It was noted that the project would represent an important step in preserving Turkish Cypriot cultural heritage and increasing its international visibility.
Speaking after the meeting, Ataoglu said cooperation with Turkey in tourism and culture was growing stronger each day, adding: “We are continuing our efforts with determination to position the Ada Cyprus brand more strongly both in our region and in Europe.”
The meeting concluded with consensus on expanding joint projects between the two countries in the fields of tourism, culture and promotion.
