Sıla Usar İncirli: We Will Submit An Early Election Bill To Parliament

Speaking on Genç’te Sabah, a programme hosted by Meltem Sonay on Genç TV, İncirli evaluated the ongoing fake diploma scandals, corruption claims and the economic situation. Emphasising that the government has lost its legitimacy, she outlined CTP’s action plan for early elections.

“They previously ignored the early election date we announced, but we continue to increase the pressure for early elections. People ask us when the ballot box will be set up. In the coming days, we will submit an early election bill to Parliament,” she said.

“The Prime Minister And The Speaker Of Parliament Must Resign Immediately”

Reacting strongly to what she described as political and ethical collapse in the country, İncirli said the highest levels of the state were under serious suspicion.

“The Prime Minister’s undersecretary is currently on trial for very serious crimes. Everyone is aware that this contamination is directly linked to the Prime Minister. Ziya Öztürkler is not just an MP; he holds the number one office. The office of the Speaker of Parliament does not tolerate suspicion. He must step down immediately until he clears his name. The attitude of ‘Will you believe me or the man in prison?’ is unacceptable. A speaker of parliament is obliged to open the way for the judiciary,” she said.

“Corruption Is Not Only A Moral Crisis, But An Economic One”

İncirli stated that the deterioration in governance directly affects the public’s finances.

“This decay is not limited to bribery and irregularities; it is also the main cause of the economic crisis. State resources are being squandered and the services people should receive are being taken away from them. If people cannot find medicine in hospitals and roads cannot be built, the reason is this bad administration. There is a major wreckage, but we are determined to remove it,” she said.

“The Public Is Waiting For A CTP Government”

İncirli said CTP is ready at any moment for a possible early election and that, after the vote, they would come to power with an administration capable of restoring all sectors and lifting the country out of crisis.

“The people are tired and have made their preparations. This darkness must come to an end,” she said.

Responding to a question on what CTP is doing for early elections, İncirli said the public frequently asks when the ballot box will be set up. She added that government MPs and ministers “do not hear these voices because they cannot go among the people.”

She underlined that expectations of CTP are high, saying, “People are truly waiting for a Republican Turkish Party government. We are aware of this and act accordingly.”

İncirli noted that their early election demand has two pillars, one of which is Parliament. She recalled that they had previously proposed a date for early elections but that the ruling side ignored the calls. She announced that they would submit an early election bill to Parliament in the coming days to maintain pressure, adding that the government’s numerical majority in Parliament currently acts as a “blockade.”

“Abolishing Preferential Voting Is Our Principled Position”

Commenting on debates over abolishing preferential voting, İncirli said CTP’s position is clear but that she does not trust Prime Minister Ünal Üstel’s sincerity.

“We believe that programmes should compete, and we support the abolition of preferential voting as a matter of principle. However, Ünal Bey is trying to use this as a tool to postpone the election and protect his seat. We will not allow this,” she said.

“We Will Conduct A Population Census As Soon As We Take Office”

İncirli also shared the first steps CTP would take if it comes to power.

“Our government programme is ready. The first thing we will do when we take office is a population census. This is essential for scientific planning. With our strong teams, we will revive the economy and establish social justice, and we will wake the country from this nightmare,” she said.
