Denktaş: TAM Party Targets 15 MPs In First Elections

According to a statement from TAM Party, Denktaş, who was a guest on Genç TV’s programme hosted by Mustafa Alkan, said:
“We could only implement the organisational model we are currently building through a new party. That party became TAM Party.”

Responding to a question on why he chose to establish a new party, Denktaş said:
“When we set out on this path, we said we were doing so with a completely new team and a completely new understanding. The organisational model we have created is one that works closely with citizens and can rapidly resolve even their smallest problems. Such a model could not be built within a conventional party. Even if it were, it could not be sustained. That is why we have chosen the most difficult but the most correct path.”

Despite being only four months old, Denktaş said the party’s committees were working intensively, attending meetings of institutions and organisations in their areas of expertise and engaging directly in fieldwork. Referring in particular to the activities of the agriculture committee, he said that problems in livestock farming and agriculture would be addressed swiftly.

At a time when both early elections and a constitutional amendment referendum are being discussed, Denktaş argued that the ruling parties were “deliberately and consciously” postponing early elections. He claimed that following the presidential election, the political atmosphere had turned against the government parties and that the agenda was being softened and distracted with unnecessary issues in order to reverse this trend.

If a constitutional amendment referendum is on the agenda, Denktaş said, all its details must be openly discussed before the public.
“The judiciary must be made independent, efficient and strong,” he added.

Denktaş stated that TAM Party aims to secure 15 MPs in the first elections, describing this as an achievable goal with the right strategy.
“Although the majority of those involved in TAM Party have not previously been active in politics, the person guiding them knows politics very well. I guide them with the lessons I have learned from every stage of my political life,” he said.

‘Entry With Identity Cards Must Be Abolished’

Responding to questions on current issues, Denktaş said the only way to break the cycle of minimum wage increases, price hikes and the cost of living was “to make life cheaper.”

Touching on internal security problems, he said:
“Our immigration police must undergo serious training and carry out much more thorough checks at entry points. Entry with identity cards must also be abolished as soon as possible.”
