THY Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing Due to Technical Malfunction

A passenger aircraft operated by Turkish Airlines (THY) made an emergency landing at India’s Kolkata Airport after a technical malfunction warning was detected in its right engine.

The Airbus A330 aircraft, operating flight TK727 from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, to Istanbul, received a right-engine malfunction warning shortly after takeoff. The aircraft was subsequently diverted to Kolkata Airport in India to allow for necessary inspections and landed safely.

Announcing the incident on social media, Turkish Airlines Communications Director Yahya Üstün said the aircraft had landed safely and that new flight arrangements were being made to enable passengers to continue their journeys.

Üstün also noted that no injuries were reported in the incident.
