Ataoğlu: Investments In The TRNC Compete With The World
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said that significant efforts are under way to attract new investments to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), stressing that investors face no bureaucratic obstacles and that investments made in the country are competitive on a global scale.
Speaking at the Tourism Investment Forum (TIF) 2026 held in Istanbul, Ataoğlu underlined the importance of both existing investments in the TRNC and their continuity, stating: “Investments made in the TRNC are investments that compete with the world.”
According to Anadolu Agency (AA), leading figures in global tourism investment gathered in Istanbul for the fifth edition of the forum, organised by the Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD) with the support of the Turkish Presidency’s Investment Office and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), and sponsored by Türkiye İş Bankası. The forum is being held over two days.
Ataoğlu noted that the number of visitors to the TRNC has increased as a result of the “ADA Cyprus” project and agreements signed with airlines. He added that serious efforts are continuing to bring new investors into the country.
“As the TRNC, we say that our doors are always open to investors coming to our country and that there are no bureaucratic barriers to the investments to be made,” Ataoğlu said. “The fact that our young population is involved both as investors and as the workforce supporting these investments makes us proud.”
Thanking the Turkish Tourism Investors Association and its partners for organising the forum, Ataoğlu expressed hope that the event would be even more successful in the coming years.
Throughout the Tourism Investment Forum, discussions are focusing on sustainable growth in tourism, the investment climate, and financing. Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy also attended the forum and delivered a speech.
