Erhurman: We Will Not Engage in Blame Games Through the Media
President Tufan Erhurman has said that he will not respond to accusations exchanged through the media, following remarks by Greek Cypriot chief negotiator Menelaos Menelaou.
In a statement shared on social media, Erhurman addressed what he described as accusatory comments originating from the Greek Cypriot leadership and reiterated his stance against conducting disputes through the press.
“I see certain accusatory statements coming from the Greek Cypriot leadership,” Erhurman said. “From the very beginning, we made it clear that we would not engage in blame games through the media.”
He added that his administration would continue its approach with patience and determination, stating: “We will proceed on our path with patience, calmness, seriousness and resolve.”
Erhurman’s remarks came in response to recent public statements by Menelaou regarding the Cyprus issue, which have drawn reactions from the Turkish Cypriot side.
