Dendias to Visit South Cyprus for Security Talks
Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias is expected to travel to South Cyprus today together with Greek Chief of the General Staff Dimitrios Hupis to hold high-level consultations following recent developments in the region.
According to Philenews, Greek Cypriot Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas will meet with Dendias and Hupis in light of the situation in the Middle East and the wider Cyprus area.
Greek Cypriot Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letimbiotis said Dendias will be received at 11:00 by Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, before holding talks with Defence Minister Palmas.
Dendias is also scheduled to meet Archbishop Georgios at the Archbishopric at 13:05.
In a post on the X platform on Sunday, Defence Minister Palmas said the meetings would focus on a general review of developments in the Middle East and the region, an assessment of the security situation and an examination of all appropriate precautionary measures.
Dendias, in a separate statement, said he would visit South Cyprus in order to enhance coordination with the Greek Cypriot side amid ongoing regional tensions.
