Erhurman: Famagusta Theology College Protocol To Be Signed And Published Soon
Tufan Erhurman announced that the law approving the protocol for the Famagusta Theology College Construction Project has been found constitutional by the Constitutional Court of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Erhurman said the law had been referred to the court under Article 146 of the constitution before being promulgated, in order to obtain an opinion on whether it complied with the constitution.
According to Erhurman, the court issued its opinion today and concluded that the protocol does not violate the constitution.
“In line with the opinion of our Constitutional Court, the relevant approval law will be signed and published as soon as possible,” he said.
The president had previously referred the law to the court for review before promulgation to ensure that the protocol related to the construction of the theology college in Famagusta was in line with constitutional provisions.
