According to a statement from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the NOTAM—numbered N0101/26 (external) and K0084/26 (internal)—came into effect at 23:00 on March 18, 2026, and will remain valid until 23:59 on April 12, 2026. It will be activated during periods when any potential military activity takes place.

Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı said the measure was introduced as part of precautionary security steps amid a sensitive period in the Middle East and the wider region.

Arıklı warned that if the NOTAM becomes active, departures from Ercan Airport may experience delays. “We ask for the understanding of our citizens and passengers, as delays in departures may occur during the activation of the NOTAM,” he said.

Officials stressed that the measure is precautionary and linked to regional security developments, noting that aviation stakeholders should closely follow updates related to the advisory airspace.
