US Urges Citizens Worldwide To Exercise Increased Caution Amid Rising Tensions
The United States government has issued a global advisory urging its citizens to exercise increased caution, particularly in the Middle East, as tensions escalate following attacks on Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes by Tehran.
In a statement released by the United States Department of State, officials warned that US diplomatic missions around the world are already considered potential targets. The statement also noted that periodic airspace closures could disrupt international travel.
The advisory cautioned that “Iran-linked groups may target locations associated with Americans worldwide,” and urged US citizens abroad to closely monitor security updates issued by their nearest US embassy or consulate.
The warning comes amid an intensifying conflict involving United States, Israel, and Iran. The latest escalation began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched military strikes on Iran while negotiations between Tehran and Washington were still ongoing.
Iran responded with retaliatory attacks targeting not only Israel but also US military installations in several countries, including Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
According to reports, the strikes carried out by the US and Israel resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
The State Department reiterated its call for vigilance, emphasizing that the security environment remains volatile and unpredictable.
